Hello world!

 Hello world! My name is Amanda and I am here to talk about my adventures in home making while being a full time bartender. I hope to cover topics such as cleaning you can get done around the house while everyone is asleep and the different cleaning methods from all those self help books. what works and what doesn't really work for me personally. I also hope to write about night gardening, cooking fabulous meals that can be eaten the next evening by my family, baking, and sometimes even a little bit about my job and how chaotic it can be. 


I hope to be relatable to women everywhere who double task being a homemaker and a full time employee trying to have it all. 


I suppose my goal would be to post here once a week. It may be more as I would like to keep each post dedicated to each topic.

Purging your closet the realistic way

 The first step in the KonMarie method is to go through all of your clothes and only keep the clothes that spark joy. The way to go about this is to put every single piece of clothing in a pile and start sorting. So, yesterday, that is what I did. I gathered every single piece of clothing I could find and put it all in a pile. NASA would've considered the mound of clothing its own planet. I started sorting. 6 hours of sorting through clothes that I wore to work in 2016, clothes that I would go clubbing in 2010, everything in between and what I currently wear daily, I proudly boasted six bags of clothes that I will be donating. Slow Beginnings

      This week I really did not have time to do much. I really wanted to meet my goals of reading and notating The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo so I could get started with trying her method for the month so I could rate it for you all. That didn't quite happen as I did not have a moment to even crack open the book until last night! It has been so difficult trying to juggle my job as a bartender now that my schedule has been changed to five clopens (close then open) per week and just being able to do something as simple as reading one hour per day.      There is something to be said about slow beginnings though. It feels like a snowball effect in the brain. Even just this simple act of spending a half hour writing this is a step. And after that, I'll be able to take another step in that direction.
