Slow Beginnings

This week I really did not have time to do much. I really wanted to meet my goals of reading and notating The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo so I could get started with trying her method for the month so I could rate it for you all. That didn't quite happen as I did not have a moment to even crack open the book until last night! It has been so difficult trying to juggle my job as a bartender now that my schedule has been changed to five clopens (close then open) per week and just being able to do something as simple as reading one hour per day.

There is something to be said about slow beginnings though. It feels like a snowball effect in the brain. Even just this simple act of spending a half hour writing this is a step. And after that, I'll be able to take another step in that direction. Each step compounds on the work that I have already laid down. Even if I go at the rate of reading one hour per day, I should have this book finished in one week. Then I could spend the next 30 days spending a realistic amount of time using the methods I have found in this book. I do hope that there is something I can take away from this. Even if it is just how to manage the mountain of trash that I currently have in my house.

The main difficulty I have been facing is the fact that the trash compactor in my complex is a quarter mile away and up a hill. Most of the time, we have to physically drive our trash up to the dumpster. I do not think that this book will help motivate me to do such a thing. I do believe that the motivation to drive the trash up to the dumpster is going to need to come from within.

Anyway, enough about what I haven't gotten done this week. I must get to working on what I should be doing so I can have a great post to share with you next week!
